Ancestry Library, HeritageQuest and Sanborn Maps
1. Clicked on Immigration & Travel and put in Titanic. Came up
with 3 other ships on the White Star line. The Majestic, Olympic,
and Republic which all had pictures with brief histories of each
ship. I was impressed with this feature and the fact you could zoom
in for a closer look.
2. Under search clicked on Newspapers & Publications. All I could
pull up were Obituary listings.
3. I searched under Books then Places. Put in Brown County,
South Dakota and came up with one book, A Brief History of
South Dakota.
Common Core: 2.8.5 Analyze and respond to multiple resources
reflecting the diverse heritage of SD, the US, and the world.

creatively share information.
Lesson for 7th or 8th grade

going back as many generations as possible. Using Sanborn Maps
find a map of one town for one selected family on the tree.

Hi, Cathy! Sorry you were unsuccessful in finding Hindenburg results. I encourage you to look at others' blogs to see how they solved the problem. Ancestry can be a useful place to find primary sources and historical information. I think 7th & 8th graders would have a great time with your Common Core lesson and learn a lot, too! Thanks for your comments.
