Basic:
I chose a test in Language Arts on the High School level to prepare for the ACT's. Overall I thought it was an excellent way to
introduce these to students. The presentation of right and wrong answers was very clear and concise. The only thing I found a bit
cumbersome was having to go back to the paragraph and then back
to the multiple choices.
I searched Nursing and came up with numerous resources which I expected but also found some Restaurant Manager. Although not
as many they also seemed helpful.
Advanced:
1. I would walk them through clicking on the Elementary School tab and concentrating on the 4th grade Reading Practise
tests rather then the courses or Ebooks. I think doing actual testing
would be more beneficial.
2. After searching Office Manager I was impressed with
the amount of resources that were available. 69 tests, 18 courses and 13 Ebooks. In this instance I would put more emphasis on the
courses and tests but would also make sure she was aware of the
Ebooks and the fact that they could be downloaded.
3. I would give an overview of all three but in this case would
dwell more on the Ebooks for factual information for a report.

World Book Advance
I have not used World Book Online that much but after exploring
it for the first assignment I have to say I am more excited about
recommending and using it with students and teachers.
I concentrated on the World Book Advanced since our Juniors
will be working on their Research papers this semester. The
Ebook section was quite interesting. I espcially like the Web
Sites feature and the How to cite the document. We are always
stressing educationally approved websites with the students and
of course citing sources is an ongoing teaching skill. Being able
to listen to articles read through Ebooks is appealing to students
in this technically engaged world and adds some fun to research.
Also the Content Standards link for teachers to be able to
access and being able to go further with Lesson Plan sites is
convenient.
I'm looking forward to introducing this site to students and teachers
alike.

Grade 12 Language Arts Reading Standards
12.R.4 Students can interpret and respond to diverse, multicultural,
and time period texts.
After reading The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and To Kill
a Mockingbird students will first break into groups and create a
timeline spanning events between the two works with an emphasis
on race relations and their impact on society in the time interval
between books. They will then present their conclusions using
specific events and examples from the books.
